Paul Lambert says Wolves are aiming to turn five wins into six as they travel to face Bristol City tomorrow (3pm).
An impressive run of form has seen Wolves move away from the lower reaches of the Sky Bet Championship table, but tomorrow’s hosts remain fourth from bottom and desperate for points to be able to do the same.
A fortnight ago they beat promotion-chasing Huddersfield 4-0 on home soil, but on Tuesday were beaten 5-0 at Preston.
"That's the Championship,” said Lambert.
“More consistent teams are at the top end and the ones who can't get a consistent run find themselves down the bottom.
“We have climbed the table and got a lot of points in a short time which was great.
“But it doesn’t change anything.
“Whether we were at the bottom of the table, the middle or the top, this is a game we will go out and try and win.
“We want to keep that winning mentality going up until the end of the season.
“Someone asked me if we won five games in a row at Norwich when we had success there – and I’m not sure we did.
“The stat we had at Norwich was never losing two games in a row – that is what got us up at that time.
“We want to go on and win number six if we can – but it will be a hard game.
"We have to play our normal game. If we do that we've got players who can create and cause trouble.
"We go down there in really good form and we go there to try and win."
Wolves will still be without goalkeeper Carl Ikeme tomorrow, and Lambert is set to make an assessment on Helder Costa’s fitness.
“Helder felt his ankle before Tuesday’s game so we had to leave him out,” said the Head Coach.
"That was a blow, it threw everything.
“Hopefully with a bit of luck he'll be o-k (for Bristol City) but if not we've got players to come in.
"We're not a one-man team. Certainly Costa has been a revelation but lads have come in and stepped up to the plate.
"At this moment in time we're in good shape.
"Carl's still struggling a bit but hopefully we get through this weekend and we've got more or less a full week before the next game, so we'll monitor him."
Lambert meanwhile has diverted any praise for his Manager of the Month award – for which he has been nominated twice in the last three months – and said it is the players who deserve all the credit.
"My main concern is the team and the supporters – self praise has never really been part of my mantra," Lambert said.
"The players deserve the credit, not me. All I do is try and help them and get them to perform.
"It's really pleasing but I'm more delighted for what the team has done.
"We were playing well, it just wasn't falling for us.
"I knew if we'd persevere the results would turn. More importantly the players knew they were playing well and weren't far away from winning games.
"That was the big factor for me."
