Nuno thanks supporters for Feed Our Pack donations

Wolves Head Coach Nuno Espirito Santo has thanked supporters for their early support of the Feed Our Pack initiative, with just under two weeks remaining to purchase a virtual ticket for the home game with Liverpool.

Donations from Nuno and the Premier League PFA and Community Fund helped the Foundation launch Feed Our Pack in January, but further backing from fans is needed to ensure as much support as possible can be given to help alleviate food poverty in the community.

The project was stepped up during the February half term with a large number of food parcels delivered by Foundation staff, and it is planned to distribute even more at Easter.

“The project is going because it is needed,” said Nuno. “There’s still a big need but it’s going well.

“During the February half-term, the project provided more than 1,500 meals and at Easter it’s going to be 3,000, because that’s the big help the people need.

“There are many initiatives, virtual tickets for the game of Liverpool, just trying to help, and at the same time, the donations by our fans have been fantastic, more than £40,000.

“We’re still on the way, helping people, this is what it’s all about.”

Feed Our Pack is very much a team effort between Foundation, club and supporters, and skipper Conor Coady and several Academy Under-18 players helped out with the initiative during half term.

“Conor is showing an example of a citizen that is worried about society, much more than a football player,” adds Nuno.

“He is a responsible man, he has a family, he has three young boys, and he’s realising that he needs to do something.

“Not only him, we have to thank all the support of our fans, raising £40,000, we must thank everybody - each and every one that donated something to help.

“Conor is one more example that us in football care about society, so I’m very proud.

“What I see is his gesture came from the heart, from inside him, he’s really concerned and motivated to help - it’s good.”
