Wolves’ membership team are now sending out this season’s information packs to thousands of adult members, which will include the credit card size leaflet produced by the Foundation.
The mailing coincides with World Suicide Prevention Day on Thursday, September 10th, a day of raising awareness not only focused on how to create a world where fewer people take their own lives, but also promoting positive mental health and wellbeing.
The Foundation’s information leaflet is just part of the ways that Wolves’ official charity has engaged with people in the community to benefit their health and wellbeing, including the very successful Head 4 Health project which aims to improve men’s mental health.
“We know that the Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown which followed has been challenging and difficult for so many people, and there has been an increase in those suffering from mental health issues,” says Rachel Smith, Health Manager with Wolves Foundation.
“Throughout these last few months we have been continuing to engage with supporters who might need us, and we wanted to ensure fans had some self-help tips to help promote positive mental wellbeing as well as sharing some useful contact details if they need some further support.
“The leaflets will be going out to all adult members over the coming weeks as part of the welcome packs that they receive.
“Hopefully the information will be something that the fans find useful either for themselves, or to pass on to family and friends who may benefit as well.”
Wolves Memberships Manager Kerri Davies was only too happy to help raise awareness and support the vital health initiative after what has been such a challenging time.
“The membership team are proud to support the work of the Foundation and are delighted to be able to help out in this way,” said Kerri.
“We recognise this has been a difficult time for a lot of people so including the leaflet about improving mental health and wellbeing in our membership packs can help any supporters who may feel they need that extra bit of guidance or advice.
“Here at Wolves we are a family, and we want to give as much help to our supporters as possible and being able to team up with the Foundation to provide this crucial advice is something we were very keen to get involved with.”
