The football club committed £1 per adult match ticket to the Foundation, to support the magnificent work they do across the region.
Head of Foundation Will Clowes said: “We discussed this opportunity together with Laurie in the summer and decided that it would be a fitting way to launch the new season whilst supporting the great work of our newly named Wolverhampton Wanderers Foundation.
“The support the charity receives from the club is a model of great practice in our industry and this donation reinforces the strength of the commitment the club has to community and social impact.
“I’d like to thank the fans for the part they’ve played in securing this level of donation to our Foundation.
“By attending in such high numbers, not only did they cheer the team on to an impressive victory against formidable opposition, but they also helped our charity.”
The Foundation has recently been approved by the Premier League to receive a Football Foundation grant for the refurbishment of the Foundation Arena at Aldersley.
This facility is dedicated to community use and the club donation will support the completion of the development.
