Having dominated much of the game, Wolves were unable to take their chances which presented themselves in an exciting and high-pressing display which Coady insists the players have been working hard to perfect under new head coach Bruno Lage.
And although having showed much greater attacking intent than the visitors, the captain knows the team now need to turn their performances into results as they still look for their first win of the 2021/22 season.
On defeat against Spurs
“It’s really hard to take. We felt it in the second-half last week as well, but I thought we were outstanding today from start to finish.
“We pressed high, we were aggressive, we created a lot of chances for ourselves, we were aggressive in the tackle, and we were much higher up the pitch, which was something we’ve been working on since the gaffer came in, who’s been fantastic.
“This is really tough to take against a real top team, but I feel we’ve nullified them to very few chances, and they only scored through a penalty.
“It’s massively disappointing because we want to be winning games more than anything, and although we can take pride from the performance, I’d much rather be standing here with a win.”

On areas to improve
“We can always do more. We will look back at the game as see what we can do more, but it’s s every single person out on that pitch, it’s not just one person.
“Whether it’s the final ball or whatever that may be – it’s up to all of us to improve. We’ll look at what we’ve done today.
“But just reflecting back on it now after just coming off the pitch, I thought we were outstanding and we are really disappointed that we haven’t got something out of it.”
On Jose Sa’s Molineux league debut
“Incredible. He’s a fantastic person, a fantastic character, a great personality and a great person to have in the changing room. He talks, he speaks and he’s a funny lad.
“You see there today that he’s always off his line, he wants to come out and he’s been fantastic behind us and a real presence for the defenders.
“He was fantastic today, and we know what he can do as a goalkeeper.”
On facing a Nuno-led Spurs
“We all know about Nuno. What he did for this football club was incredible in the four years.
“But we came here with a game plan, we wanted to win, we wanted to be aggressive, we wanted to press and we did it, but we just couldn’t get the goal in the end.”
On enjoying playing under Lage
“Without a doubt. We’re working every single day, we train like you wouldn’t believe, there’s double sessions and there’s all kinds.
“There’s a lot of work that is going into training and it’s really tough, but it’s been fantastic, we’re excited by it and were excited by the season ahead.
“But we want to keep improving. We said in the changing room then that this is the way we want to play, but now it’s about winning games. But we want to be winning games playing like that as well.”

On the fans returning
“It was everything that we wanted. Our crowd are everything to us. We missed them like you wouldn’t believe last season.
“We don’t put excuses on things, but last season was tough and not having the Wolves crowd behind us made it even harder.
“They’re a massive part of this football club, they’re a massive part of us, so to have them back was absolutely incredible.”
