Kilman | 'We'll come back stronger'

Maximilian Kilman believes Wolves will come back stronger after the international weekend, ready for a fresh round of Premier League fixtures.

The central defender stepped into the starting line-up against Fulham last weekend and performed like he’d never been away, with composure and confidence in his defending and distribution. Injury to Marcal and the departure of Ruben Vinagre saw Wolves reshuffle and Kilman earn a recall, and the youngster was pleased to be back on the grass, contributing to an important win before the break.

On being ready to go again

“We have time to regroup and work a bit more in training, then we’ll come back and hopefully be stronger.”

On the Fulham win

“I think we were brilliant. As a team, the main objective was to win the game and having a clean sheet made it even more special.”

On the game plan

“Of course, we wanted to stay compact, win all our individual battles and get the win, and we got that, so everyone’s happy.”

On handling Fulham’s pressure

“They’re a tough side, very good on the ball. We understood that, the pressure they’d put us under, but I think we matched that and defended really well.”

On missing Marcal on the left

“He’s a brilliant player and when he’s back, he’ll show how good he is, but for now, he’s out and we had to play with what we had, and we did very well.”
