Nuno provides positive Traore update

Nuno Espirito Santo says Ruben Vinagre is his only absentee for Friday’s Premier League clash with Leicester City.

Adama Traore has been passed fit by the head coach, who insists his group is now fully refreshed and ready to kick-on after a positive warm-weather training camp in Marbella. After two weeks without a game, Nuno is relishing the return to action, with a squad brimming with team spirit.

On passing Traore fit

“All the squad, with the exception of Vinagre, is available for tomorrow. Everybody is ready to go.

“It’s less of a worry for him [Adama] because he’s strong and he has a lot of people taking care of him. The problem is there, of course, and it takes time to settle down, but the kind of work he’s doing, muscular work, it’s about getting stronger and taking care, avoiding some kind of contact, of course.”

On the winter break

“It was something we had planned. We usually do this kind of trip to Marbella, we’ve done it for three seasons. I could see it was a good chance to work in a different environment. I’m positive because we had chances to do things, we didn’t have a chance to do here. I think it was good for the us, the squad, the players, so everything’s OK.

“We kept the same routines as here, we trained in the morning and had the afternoons to stay together, to do different activities. The players rest and go out together, so everything is normal. It’s just working in a different environment, with more pleasant temperatures.”

On the spirit in the group

“We keep on building because the spirit is there. The relationship among them, the way they gel, is amazing. We received new players and it’s important to integrate them and that’s the responsibility of the players that are already here, and my responsibility to promote this kind of environment.

“It was a chance to regroup and spend a nice week working. We started earlier than everybody and I think we worked well. I think it was good for us. We are positive about it, we want to compete like always, knowing it’s going to be a tough game."

On Molineux under the lights

“Molineux’s always phenomenal, since the Championship. It’s been amazing, the support our fans give, and we love to play at Molineux. We are looking forward to tomorrow.”

On Leicester’s strengths

“Brendan is doing a fantastic job, very good players, everybody can see the quality they have. So, we know what we’re going to face tomorrow. They are a very good team, with a lot of quality players, a clear idea of football.

“It’s not a surprise, we know the quality from last season. This season they started very well and are able to sustain this kind of performances. Aggressive, good possession, speed, we are ready for it. I remember it was a fantastic game [last season].”
