Neto feeling the collective Wolves strength

Pedro Neto was in positive spirits after marking his first start in seven with a game-changing assist against Besiktas.

The Portuguese crossed for his compatriot Diogo Jota to opening the scoring as Wolves drew the curtain on their Europa League Group K campaign with victory over Besiktas. A further three goals followed for the men in old gold, on a fine night for Neto and his teammates.

On the Besiktas win

“It was an important game for us. We wanted to get first place, but unfortunately, we couldn't do it. It was a great performance, a great win and congratulations to the whole team for their attitude.”

On his personal performance

“With collective strength, we are able stand out individually. The team was doing well at that point (before the first goal) and I was fortunate to make a good play and have Jota finishing it well for the first goal, which allowed us to unlock the game, scoring three more goals from then on helping us secure a tremendous victory.”

On being refreshed from Spain

“We're a very close-knit group and the training camp helped us on that. It allowed us to recover from the great number of games we have had, while also allowing us to rest and be properly prepared for the match and as everyone could see, we played really well and were able to come out with a win.”

On building for Sunday

“We're on a good run, we're highly motivated and we'll be looking to fight for a win on the weekend straight away.”
