Nuno Espirito Santo was proud of the performance of his players as they came from behind once again in a well-fought draw with Sheffield United at Molineux.
Heading into the contest, both sides were battling out for fifth place in the Premier League table, and the Wolves head coach described the tie as 'one of the best games' as both teams tried their hardest to claim all three points.
On draw with the Blades
“I’m pleased with the game. I think it was a very good game of football, honestly, it was one of the best games I’ve had, it was very good.
“I think we performed very well and Sheffield United performed very, very good also – high intensity, duels, honesty, two teams in the game, both teams wanting to go for the game. I’m very proud of them and very proud of the way we played.”
On falling behind in under two minutes
“In that moment we should have had better defending in the box, two players jumped for the same ball, but this can happen. It happened in the box, but the reaction we had from going behind in the first minute, we reacted well to go for the game in the first-half and in the second-half.
“But we have to go again, and we have to react. We played Thursday, so we cannot be prouder today.”
On Matt Doherty’s celebration
“It means a lot. He had some bad news about a dear friend of his, but myself also. Benik was someone who was here with us and has had a bad moment in his life, and I wish him and his family all the best.
“For Matt, it meant a lot, and it meant a lot for the whole of the Molineux. It was a moment that was celebrated because we felt that a goal was coming. The way that the fans pushed the team every time we tried to go, with crosses and good combinations, I think it was well deserved for it.”
On playing Thursday-Sunday
“It’s very demanding on the players but it a very good challenge for us because we grow to the competition, and the game for us is a moment we must use to grow and improve as a team.
“It’s very nice because we don’t have time to practice – you rest and compete. During the competitions that you have, you grow and try things; it’s always the same.”
On nine-game unbeaten run
“It means that we have to compete again on Wednesday. Every new game we have to find solutions and try things, but we want to compete, we want to play and try to recover well.”
