Neto: Wolves supporters deserved a victory

Wolves supporters deserve their first Premier League win of the season for the ‘amazing’ backing they have given the players throughout the opening stages of the campaign, according to Pedro Neto.

The Portuguese under-21 international laid the ball on a plate for Matt Doherty to tap home from a matter of yards as Wolves secured three points against Watford at Molineux on Saturday afternoon, and Neto felt the victory was well deserved for the team’s improved recent performances.

On the Molineux atmosphere

“These fans deserve the first victory in the Premier League. They deserve it because their support was amazing, and the feeling was amazing for this victory and we deserve it.

“Now we will try to win the next game, and over and over again. We want to win all the games.”

On three point against Watford

“It was very important, the first victory in the Premier League. Now we are focused on the next game already and try to win again.

“The first goal was very important. I think that we deserved this win, we deserved to win the last games too, but it was not possible. Today we won, and we deserved it.”

On helping his side to victory

“All the Premier League games are tough games, but we are ready for all of them, we are ready to compete to win, and that’s what we have done today.

“In the first-half I have a little bit more of the ball than in the second, but all the team have done good work, and now we are focused already on the next game.”
