Jota confident of turn in results

Diogo Jota remains confident Wolves will return to form sooner rather than later and has targeted Selhurst Park as the place to do it.

Wolves head to Crystal Palace searching for a first Premier League victory of the season on Sunday, on the back of a run of three consecutive defeats. Nevertheless, Jota is confident that a run of results is just around the corner, given the positives in Wolves’ Europa League performance against Braga on Thursday.

On putting things right

“It’s important for us to get the first win in the Premier League, so that’s what we’ll try to do. Things don’t always go well for us and every team has lows in a season.

“Our moment of bad results is now, at the beginning, and we’ll go to the next level soon. When you win everything is easier, but we are professionals and know what we have to do to do better.”

On opposition being more clinical

“We did a good game – in terms of statistics it was probably one of the best (against Braga), because we had so much possession and so many opportunities. What was missing was finding the back of the net, but that will happen over the coming games.

“We play always with good teams, with good players, they have chances to score, we have chances to score, but they are scoring and it’s not happening for us. If we keep working hard, as we are, things will get better.”

On deserving more against Braga

“I think we deserved more from the game – we managed possession and we had opportunities, but we couldn’t find the back of the net. They scored with a counter attack and made it hard for us after that.”
