Bennett feels Wolves lacked luck

Ryan Bennett believes Wolves should have turned possession into goals at Molineux, but felt luck abandoned them against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Twice the woodwork came to Brighton’s rescue at Molineux, as Wolves were frustrated by the visitors, and Bennett knows training will be focused on breaking down similar opposition in the future.

On home frustrations

“It was difficult out there. It was a hot day so it was nice to have the ball for that period of time. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it pay.

“We knew they were going to come and be organised, we found that at their place when we played them at the start of the season.

“I suppose they’ll look at it as a good point but it’s a disappointing one for us really with the amount of possession we did have.”

On Brighton’s approach

“Teams are going to come and do that, we’ve found that a few times this season. Normally, at this level, when teams do that it is hard to break down. We did dominate the ball and, unfortunately, we couldn’t find a way.

“It’s something that we’ll go and work on and try and create different ideas to break teams down who come at us like that, we’ve found it a couple of times this season.

“We have found it difficult so we’ll keep working as hard as we can and we’ve got another big game on Wednesday.”

On a lack of luck

“We had a few good chances, a few unlucky ones as well. There were a few decisions out there that maybe could have gone the other way.

“That happens in football, we’ve been on the other end of it as well, so you can’t complain too much. The luck was in for them and unfortunately not for us.”

On fans staying with the team

“I think we’ve given them a good season so I think they’re going to be on our side until the end of the season.

“We going to keep working as hard as we have all season and hopefully we can go out there and put a good performance on Wednesday and hopefully it will be another terrific night.”
