Goals in either half from Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk gave the visitors the three points and ended Wolves' three-game winning streak.
Coady, facing his former club, believes that the clinical manner of the two goals underlines the quality of the Premier League.
On facing Liverpool
"We said before the game that we had to focus for 95 minutes, and unfortunately we've switched off for the two goals, which is disappointing from our point of view.
"They're top drawer, with their movement and the way that they drag people out of position, so fair play to them, but from our point of view we have to look at the goals and improve, and make sure we're focusing for the full game.
"The first goal is a great finish but we could have stopped that happening by stopping the quick free-kick being taken. However, we've switched off there and we've switched off when the cross comes in for the second one.
"You can't afford to do that against any team in this league, but they're at the top of the league and they're really going to punish you."
On the game plan
"We had a plan and we started off ok - we kept the ball well and we nullified them. We try to be fearless and play our game, and I thought we did that first half - we used the width and we hurt them for spells. If we'd taken one of those half chances it might be a different game."
On turning attention to Fulham
"It's a big game for us. We went there last season and found it hard - Fulham are a good side who move the ball quickly so we'll need to be prepared and ready - we know it'll be a tough, tough game.
"We're in on Christmas Day and we'll prepare properly to make sure we learn from the Liverpool game."
