Nuno looking for team to learn from experience

Nuno Espirito Santo expects his team to learn from their first Premier League game when they face Leicester City on day two this weekend.

Wolves drew 2-2 with Everton on the opening day, however Nuno feels his side can learn from the way in which they started the game at Molineux.

“Eveybody felt we didn’t start the game well,” he said. “We overdid some movements but this is to do with a lot of aspects. For many of us it was the first Premier League game.

“To play football you have to use your head, don’t let the crowd get into you because sometimes they rush you and expect things, but the tempo of the game is more important.

“It’s understandable but not what we want so we must avoid it. I truly believe when you control your emotions on a football pitch, you are stronger.

“It’s been one of tasks for this week, helping the players make the most of their talents in the right moments.”

New signing Adama Traore could come into contention for the trip to the King Power Stadium, having arrived just days before the start of the Premier League campaign.

“All the players who’ll go tomorrow are options for us. The game will dictate our, we don’t predict. Adama’s characteristics can give different things to us.

“When we bring a player, it’s because he brings something different to us. It’s about introducing them into your own shape.

“Sometimes it takes longer than you expect, but the idea is to create a shape and using different weapons in different parts of the pitch.”

Nuno’s Porto faced Leicester City in the group stage of the 2016/17 Champions League, winning in Portugal but losing at the King Power Stadium, but is expecting a different challenge on Saturday.

“They’re totally different. What Leicester did in achieving the Premier League title was amazing. We saw it before in the Premier League when they played Manchester United, they’re a good team.

“We are going to face a tough team but we’re ready, we passed the info of Leicester to the players and we look forward to competing.”
