Concentrate On The Next Game

Diogo Jota says that Wolves’ concentration is solely on their next game as they prepare to face Nottingham Forest in the Sky Bet Championship at Molineux on Saturday (3pm).

Wolves head into the game on the back of their first defeat in 15 games as they were narrowly beaten by Swansea City in the Emirates FA Cup on Wednesday.

Although he admits that it is never nice to lose a game, Jota says that the team’s focus remains on their next fixture.

He said, “you can’t always be the winning team in every match, we know that losses will happen and now we have to bounce back on the right track.

“Of course, we don’t want to lose any match, especially when that loss puts you out of a competition, but now we can’t do anything to rectify that so we have to keep going and focus on the league.

“We know we can’t always win, so now we have to concentrate on the next game and tomorrow’s match is important for us.”

Jota played a key role in Wolves’ win in the reverse fixture against Nottingham Forest earlier in the season as he scored both goals in the 2-1 win.

He has fond memories of the game and says that game showed the spirit that Wolves have within their squad.

“I remember we didn’t play well in the first half, but in the second half it was completely different, we bounced back and it was a good win for us away from home,” Jota said.

“It’s been a good season for me so far, in terms of statistics, but we are on course for a bigger achievement and we know that, so we have to keep going”.

“We always believe, right until the end, we always believe that we can win and never give up”.

“When we look back at the draw against Barnsley, an inch lower and we win that game, that’s football.

“That’s show’s that although we drew we didn’t play badly, so we move on.

“I know I have said this before but we only think about the next match and with that thought process we are in a good place.”
