Away Draw For Wolves

Plymouth or Liverpool in Round Four

Wolves have been drawn away to Plymouth or Liverpool in the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The two sides drew 0-0 in their initial tie at Anfield yesterday, with the replay taking place on Wednesday, January 18th.

Wolves have played Plymouth three times in the FA Cup, most recently in the third round 11 years ago when Leon Clarke scored the only goal of the game at Molineux.

The previous occasions were in 1950 when Wolves progressed in a home replay after drawing away, and a year later when Wolves won 2-1 away form home.

Wolves and Liverpool have been drawn together five times in the competition, Wolves progressing three times and Liverpool two.

The most recent of those games was back in 1952,  when Liverpool progressed 2-1 at Anfield.

After two of those meetings, in 1939 and 1949, Wolves went on to reach the final, winning on the latter occasion.

Both teams' record attendances have come in these fixtures.

In 1939, 61, 315 packed into Molineux for the cup tie, and Anfield played host to 61,905 in 1952.

The fourth round tie will take place over the final weekend of January.
