We Always Feel Like We’re At Home

By Nathan Bliss

Leo Bonatini heaped praise on the Wolves fans for their excellent support, as he feels they played a big part in their derby win.

Bonatini scored his 12th and the only goal of the game as Wolves beat Birmingham City on Monday evening to go four points clear at the top of the Sky Bet Championship.

Speaking after the win at St Andrews, the Brazilian thanked the fans for their continued support.

He said, “It’s three points more and we knew that it would be a tough game here.

“We know we could have played better but the most important thing is that we’ve got the three points and we go home with three more points.

“We had a while before the game without playing and maybe we found some difficulties in playing but we knew it was a derby, and we came here to play a tough game, but the fans came here to support us,” Bonatini continued.

“They made us run for them, they really helped us - it’s really nice and we’re happy that we got three points.

“We need to keep working, we still have a long time to go and there are still many games in the league.

“Everyone is playing well, even the guys that come on to the pitch are doing well - everyone is working hard.

“We are together, we are a family here and we are chasing our target”

Bonatini is Wolves’ top goalscorer this season, with 12 goals in 20 league appearances, and he says the support is so good that he feels at home wherever they play.

“The fans are with us all the time.

“When we play away, we feel like we are playing at home - all of the time they come to support us.

“We try and play well to give them the happiness to come here and enjoy the game.

“We know we didn’t play so well but we take the three points against a difficult opponent.

“It’s three important points and we hope to be better in the next game.”

Wolves are back in action at Molineux on Saturday, as they take on Sunderland in the Sky Bet Championship at 3pm.
