Nuno Espirito Santo’s men approach the game following a four-point return from the Millwall and Bristol City fixtures and directly on the back of Tuesday night’s 3-3 thriller.
Speaking ahead of the Forest clash, Batth reiterated the message of continual improvement that has been discussed by other members of the playing squad as well as the Head Coach.
“The lads are obviously recovering as usual from Tuesday,” said the skipper before adding: “Talking between themselves about how they want to keep getting better.
“They’re keen to get back out there on Saturday and hopefully get three points.
“I think it will be similar to most away games – you’ve got to go and manage the crowd, you’ve got to set yourself up to make sure you’re solid and hard to beat.
“Likewise, we’ve got a very particular way of playing, we want to make sure that comes across and we can cause them problems as well.
“We know it was a good point against Bristol City on Tuesday but we conceded three goals, two of those were from set pieces. We’ll have to rectify that and make sure we’re solid for the rest of the season.
“I think what makes it more frustrating are that the goals weren’t conceded from open play, they came from set pieces and we do a lot of work through the week on those.
“We have to fine-tune it and make sure, as a team, that we’re set up for the first and the second ball to make sure that we don’t get a repeat of Tuesday.
“You’re always going to come up against different tests and it’s about how the back five deal with that.
“We have to make sure that we’re on top and that we give the forwards good service, hoping that they can do the damage.
“That will be the same again on Saturday – a different test at another away ground.”
Batth has featured in four games in all competitions so far this season and Wolves have kept clean sheets in three of those fixtures.
But the 26-year-old admitted that he knows competition for places is tough while the team is performing so well.
“I think I’ve started okay. I’m back in the team now and that’s not something I’ll take for granted,” he said.
“I’ve got to keep playing well because the squad’s so good and I want to be part of that.
“You’ve got to make sure you’re on your toes every day in training and make sure you’re living the right way away from the club.
“It’s good for any squad to have good competition. Players can get distracted or relaxed.
“If somebody has a dip in form here then they’re likely to be out of the team.
“If you’re in the team then it’s important to try and hold on to that shirt but, likewise, it’s a squad game and it’s how well the squad performs that will take us to where we want to be.”
The skipper can currently boast an impressive goalscoring recording for a centre-half, having netted four times in his last ten competitive outings.
Dicsussing his purple patch in front of goal, Batth said: “It was nice to score on Tuesday and get us a point. Plus, it’s always great to score in front of the South Bank with how it erupts.
“Defending is the number one priority for me and, if I can chip in with a few goals, then I’m always happy to do so.
“I’ve had a decent scoring run but it’s about what you do next, you can’t dwell on it for too long, you’ve just got to make sure you go and get the next one.
“I’m always confident in getting in the box and getting on the end of things.
“Rather than setting myself a target, I’d rather just focus on getting the next one and just going from there."
