Wolves hand opportunity to powerful striker
Wolves have signed promising young striker Duckens Nazon on an initial contract to the end of the season.
The 22-year-old Haiti international will be handed the chance to impress, with the club having a one-year option in place beyond the summer.
The powerful frontman has been training with Wolves for a couple of weeks and is expected to get his first opportunity at Under-23 level.
“Duckens is a player we have seen in the Copa America and also playing in France,” says Sporting Director Kevin Thelwell.
“He has some interesting qualities.
“Strikers are hard to come by and when you find someone who has pace and power, and wants to develop and learn and grow, sometimes you take that opportunity and take a chance on it.
“Now Duckens has signed an initial short term deal, he has to prove he is capable of playing in England and playing at this level and hopefully he will come through.”
French-born, Nazon has experience playing in France with Lorient, St Quentin, and Lavel, and was most recently playing for Kerala Blasters, managed by Steve Coppell, in the Indian Super League.
He is an international with Haiti, with five goals from 16 games, and helped them qualify for the 2015 Gold Cup.
Duckens will wear squad number 62, and his reaction to the move will follow shortly.
