Match Preview | Wolves vs Brentford

After the jubilant scenes at Ashton Gate which rounded off 2017 on a high for Wolves, they’ll look to build further with an impressive start to 2018.

Ryan Bennett’s last-gasp winner over promotion rivals, Bristol City sent the Wolves away end into raptures and going into tonight’s game their lead on second place Derby County stands at nine points. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are a further two ahead of third place and go into Tuesday’s clash with Brentford on the back of an 11-match unbeaten run. It’s their fourth match in 11 days, after victories over Ipswich Town and the Robins, and a draw against Millwall over the festive period.

The Opposition

Brentford arrive at Molineux on the back of a perfect Christmas to date, where they won all three of their festive fixtures. Those victories, which helped form a four-game unbeaten run, have seen Dean Smith’s side rise to tenth in the Championship, four points behind the Play-Off positions. In Lasse Vibe, Brentford have a real goal threat, with the Denmark international bagging eight goals in his last ten away Championship starts.
