Ebanks-Landell suffers broken metatarsal
Ethan Ebanks-Landell has been ruled out for the rest of the season after breaking his fifth metatarsal against Middlesbrough.
A scan has revealed the damage and the defender is undergoing surgery today.
“Ethan broke his fifth metatarsal during Friday’s game and he is having surgery today,” confirmed Phil Hayward, Head of the Medical Department.
“He is expected to be sidelined for between 10 to 12 weeks so unfortunately his season looks to be over.”
Kortney Hause came off the bench to replace Ebanks-Landell at The Riverside, reverting to his favoured centre half position which he occupied during the first few months of the season.
“It is bad news for Ethan who had come through a good run in the team and had been looking for that breakthrough for a while," said Head Coach Kenny Jackett.
“Players need that run in the team to continue to develop and it is a really frustrating injury for Ethan.
“For the team now we must push on and there is a big opportunity now for Kortney to come back into the side.”
