Latest on Henry/Williamson, and McDonald's chance to return

Wolves will still be without Mike Williamson and James Henry for Saturday’s testing trip to top-of-the-table Burnley, as Kenny Jackett challenged Kevin McDonald to force his way back into the team.

The treatment room has cleared slightly recently with Kortney Hause and Michal Zyro back in action, and while it is hoped Williamson and Henry are getting ever closer, neither will be ready to return at Turf Moor.

“There’s no target date,” said Jackett.

“We’ll have to get them training to see or set a target date.

“We hoped obviously both of them would be back by now.

“Henry wont be fit for Burnley, neither will Williamson - we’ll see after the international break.

“Hopefully they can have a good couple of weeks and won’t be far away.

“But all I can say is, game by game, they wont be fit for Burnley.

“After that we’re optimistic, but we’ll have to see.”

McDonald lost his place in the team for Sunday’s 0-0 draw against Birmingham, having been substituted in the previous two games, but Jackett believes he has the quality to fight his way back in.

“It’s Kevin’s task to fight back, and he’s capable of that,” added Jackett.

“It does nobody any harm to step back, reassess and fight again for your place.”
