Hause And Graham pen new contracts

Wolves are delighted to announce that highly-rated duo Kortney Hause and Jordan Graham have put pen to paper on new long-term contracts.

Hause, who arrived at Molineux two years ago, had a current deal due to expire in 2018 but has now agreed terms on a three-and-a-half-year contract to secure his future until 2019.

Graham, who joined Wolves 15 months ago, had a deal including a year’s option which would have expired in 2017, but has signed a two-and-a-half year contract – with a further two year option in the club’s favour – potentially tying him to Wolves until the summer of 2020.

The improved deals are just rewards for the impressive progress made by both players since arriving at Wolves.

Hause, 20, learnt his trade at Wycombe before checking in at Wolves in January, 2014, initially featuring in the Under-21s side before heading out on loan to Gillingham for the first part of the 2014/15 campaign.

Then recalled to Molineux, he was a regular in the team at left back over the second half of the last season, before spending the first few months of this season occupying his more natural centre back berth, before picking up an injury against Middlesbrough in October.

Hause, who has progressed through the England junior set-up to now being an Under-21 international, is now back in training following the injury and closing in on a return to availability.

Winger Graham, also 20, came through the Academy system at Aston Villa before joining Wolves on loan, in a deal which then became permanent in January of last year.

Like Hause, he spent the early stages of his Wolves career within the Under-21s set-up, before bursting to prominence in a loan spell with Oxford United last September and October.

Handed his first Wolves chance at senior level, he made 12 appearances, scoring one goal and producing a host of assists, before suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury against Cardiff which will rule him out for between nine and 12 months.

The development and potential of both players has seen Wolves move to secure their futures.

“It is very good news that Kortney and Jordan have signed new contracts,” said Head Coach Kenny Jackett.

“They are outstanding young players who have made good inroads into the first team over the last year or so.

“Although both are out injured at the moment they will go on and have very good Wolves careers, and we are delighted to have secured both of their services for an extended period of time.

“It is good both ways as they have been keen in wanting to commit to us and I am looking forward to myself and the Club working hard with them to continue their progress.”

Head of Football Development and Recruitment Kevin Thelwell added:  “I think everybody could see that before his injury that Kortney was making really solid strides forward in terms of playing regularly in the Championship at 20 years old.

“He had also stepped up to the England Under-21s with Dominic Iorfa and I am not sure how long it has been since Wolves had two players in that set-up.

“I think if he had stayed fit Jordan would also have had a chance to break into that group with the sort of form he was showing.

“We could see his potential in the games that he had and, while he has a lot of hard work to do over the coming months, it is no longer the case that a cruciate injury is career-threatening.

“We wanted to show some faith in him and make a statement about what he had done in in those first games for us so that he knew his future was safe and secure, and his future is with Wolves.

“We want both players to help Wolves move forwards and are delighted that they have signed new contracts.

“I think they have seen here that they have an opportunity to play and try and achieve something with a very big club.

“Their performances will have attracted interest and this is a clear statement of intent from the football club and a clear statement of intent by the players which can only be good news.”
