FPL | An upturn in player ownership

A promising February has seen Wolves players among the most transferred in players for Fantasy Premier League.

So who are the top transfer targets according to Fantasy Football Hub’s artificial intelligence going into March?

It’s been a crucial month of action for the club, with wins against Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Sheffield United taking the side up to eighth in the Premier League table, with 38 points.

In fantasy terms, we’ve seen three players make the Team of the Week in February. Matheus Cunha (£5.6m) produced 17 points with his hat-trick against Chelsea in Gameweek 23, before a brace for Joao Gomes (£4.9m) against Spurs saw a 14 point haul. The Brazilian is the top performing player in the club in FPL terms for February.

Last weekend, Rayan Ait-Nouri (£4.5m) notched an assist against the Blades, plus a clean sheet and all three bonus points for 12 points in total - he’s been an important returnee from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Hee Chan Hwang (£5.6m) has become a popular acquisition since returning from the Asian Cup with South Korea, with the forward the most bought player ahead of blank Gameweek 26, with 750,000 new owners.

But Hwang was forced off in the FA Cup fifth round victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday evening, with head coach Gary O'Neil admitting after the game that he would be 'amazed' if the Korean was to feature against Newcastle on Saturday.

However, it was Pablo Sarabia (£4.7m) who stole the headlines with the winner on Sunday. His 12 shots on goal over the last four gameweeks ranks him fifth among midfielders in the game and he’s also created the most chances for the club, with nine in this spell. Pedro Neto (£5.8m) is not far behind him, with 11 shots.

Moving into March, the upcoming home game against Fulham in Gameweek 28 carries plenty of appeal, with fantasy options to consider across each position. Progression to the FA Cup quarter-finals means that Wolves’ Gameweek 29 fixture against Bournemouth at home will now be postponed.

FPL Gameweek 29 will have just four fixtures, making it particularly difficult to navigate, and so most managers will be looking to use their Free Hit chip. This means that the Wolves players will have good utility around that fixture, and will also have a double gameweek later in the season.

Goalkeeper Jose Sa (£5.0m) has been involved in four of five clean sheets for the campaign and has made 19 saves during February. Ait-Nouri leads the defensive assets at a budget friendly £4.5 million price tag, with 17 key passes this season.

When it comes to investment in the attack, we are currently spoilt for choice among the front three, Neto and Sarabia are listed as midfielders in the game and each priced under £6.0 million.

Hwang had taken the centre-forward role in the last two gameweeks, with his advanced positioning and out-of-position status made him the most attractive option, but he is now a doubt for the trip to Newcastle United after sustaining a hamstring problem against Brighton in the cup in midweek.

Hwang was first choice penalty taker before travelling to the Asian Cup in January, with Sarabia deputising in his absence at the turn of the year. However, Neto is predicted to be the top performer for March according to AI, with 11.9 predicted points across the next four gameweeks, ahead of Sarabia on 11.5 points.
