Today's goal of the day helped Wolves avoid back-to-back home defeats to Grimsby Town as Denis Irwin's brilliant free-kick jump started his side's push to victory over the Mariners.
After crashing to a shock 1-0 home defeat to Grimsby in the corresponding fixture the previous season, Wolves must have had a sense of deja-vu when they fell behind after just two minutes. However, up stepped Irwin to fire his team level with a great free-kick, before three more goals saw the hosts secure the win.
