The partnership, which began at the beginning of the 2018/19 season, will see Wolves’ state-of-the-art Compton training base sponsored for the first time in its history.
Originally opened in 2005, the complex houses Nuno’s senior team and the club’s Category 1 Academy and will be known officially as the ‘Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground sponsored by Fosun International’.
The site underwent significant re-development in 2014 and once again this summer in preparation for the club’s return to the Premier League, which included the addition of a new medical space, extensions to the gym and catering facilities and two new DessoGrassMaster pitches.
The complex is named after the club’s legendary former owner Sir Jack Hayward, who helped steer the club from financial insecurity to the top flight between 1990 and 2007 whilst investing over £70m, and had a statue unveiled in his honour in June this year.
Founded in Shanghai in 1992, Fosun International Limited is a family-focused multinational company that has been listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (00656.HK) since 2007.
With its roots in China, and through technology and innovation, Fosun's mission is to create customer-to-maker (C2M) ecosystems in health, happiness and wealth, providing high-quality products and services for families around the world, and has a global portfolio of investments that include Club Med, Cirque du Solei and Tsingtao Brewery overseas, and Thomas Cook and Silver Cross in the UK.
In addition to the brand benefits associated with sponsorship of the training ground, Fosun International will also benefit from a host of other marketing rights including media backdrop branding, LED advertising and static branding at Molineux, digital advertising, access to players and matchday hospitality.
Wolves managing director Laurie Dalrymple said: "The facilities at our training ground, and the elite player development that our coaches provide, align seamlessly with Fosun International's commitment to health, happiness and social responsibility, with a particular emphasis on self-improvement, teamwork and performance, making this sponsorship opportunity a great fit.
"We’ve invested heavily in redeveloping our training facilities over the summer, which is why we have saved this announcement until completion of the works, but this deal means we can continue to improve year-on-year to provide a best-in-class environment for our Academy players, right through to the first-team."
Assistant president of Fosun and executive chief representative of London, LingjiangXu said: “It’s been two years since Wolves joined the Fosun family, and together with Wolves’ management team, we have helped guide the club to the Premier League in our first two seasons of ownership.
"We are very proud of our association with such an excellent club, not only fighting hard to achieve goals but also fully devoted to its youth academy. We believe that with a newly developed high standard training facility, Wolves will keep achieving better results in the coming seasons.”
