Wolves Museum goes from strength to strength following relaunch

Wolves Museum’s relaunch has seen thousands of supporters flock to the Molineux attraction during the 2022/23 season as footfall doubled on the previous year.

Due to the great increase in attendance, which has seen 11,000 people through the Museum doors in the past ten months, opening hours will be extended to 10.30am until 4.30pm, Friday to Sunday, from Monday 5th June.

The brand-new Museum guide which was released in late October 2022 has sold over 800 copies, with sales still going strong. Including content contributed by the outstanding stadium tour guides, this has proved to be a popular addition to the stadium tour and museum package, and a great gift for any Wolves fan.

The Matchday Museum Experience, which runs prior to all home men’s first-team fixtures, has welcomed legendary former players and guests such as Christophe Berra, Kenny Hibbitt, Steve Bull, John Richards, Matt Jarvis, Mel Eves, Matt Murray and Andy Thompson.

The package has proved to be extremely popular and increasing exponentially, with almost all matches selling out. Now in its second year, the experience has gives attendees the unique experience of hearing all about their Wolves heroes’ careers, in situ within the Museum, while enjoying an exclusive buffet and museum tour.

Family Fun Days in Wolves Museum have welcomed families throughout the year, to enjoy activities, mini tours and visits from Wolfie and Wendy. With quizzes and colouring competitions, Wolves youngsters have won themselves some fabulous prizes.

In January 2023, the Museum team hosted an evening of celebration for the 10-year anniversary of the Wolves Museum opening, hosted by Jenny Wilkes, and with talks from Wolves legends Paul Butler, Jim McCalliog, Mel Eves and Steve Daley.

Attended by former players and public alike, the event raised £4,000 through a silent auction, which was donated towards the Wolves Foundation and the Good Shepherd, which provides food and support services to the homeless and vulnerable in Wolverhampton.

In an overwhelmingly successful year for the Museum, staff were also lucky enough to welcome Wolves’ head coach, Julen Lopetegui, on his first day at the club, as he learnt all about the history of the team in Old Gold before taking the reins in his first game against Gillingham in the Carabao Cup.

Entry into Wolves Museum, priced at just £5, can be pre-booked online at tickets.wolves.co.uk.
