The Wolves skipper was one of seven senior old goal men in international action over the weekend, as qualification for the World Cup in Qatar intensified.
While a third round of World Cup qualifiers commences this weekend, wolves.co.uk rounds up the action between Friday and Sunday involving Bruno Lage’s players.
Conor Coady | England 4-0 Andorra
Partnering Tyrone Mings at the back, Coady played in front of England fans at Wembley for the first time on Sunday evening and was typically impressive on the ball and solid at the back. It was another England clean sheet for the 28-year-old, who is yet to concede from open play for the Three Lions – a Denmark penalty last October the only time England have conceded with the Wolves man on the pitch.
Leander Dendoncker | Belgium 3-0 Czech Republic
Belgium took a big step towards qualification with victory over Czech Republic, which saw Leander Dendoncker feature late on. The midfielder replaced Youri Tielemans with nine minutes remaining and Roberto Martínez’s side cruising – they’ve now taken 13 points from 15 available and are on course for Qatar.
Adama Traore | Spain 4-0 Georgia
A comfortable victory over Georgia saw Adama Traore’s Spain move top of their qualifying group on Sunday. While the Wolves man was an unused substitute on this occasion, his country got back to winning ways, with Manchester City’s Ferran Torres amongst the scorers. They face Kosovo next on Wednesday evening, when Traore will hope for minutes on the pitch.

Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Nelson Semedo & Francisco Trincao | Qatar 1-3 Portugal
Wolves’ Portuguese contingent, Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Nelson Semedo and Francisco Trincao all featured in their country’s friendly win over Qatar on Saturday. Like for Wolves, Moutinho and Neves started together in the middle, with Semedo at right-back, while Trincao came on for the final 22 minutes. They all return to World Cup qualification action on Tuesday against Azerbaijan.
