Patricio Friday's programme focus

Rui Patricio takes centre stage in Friday night’s official matchday programme, discussing a whole host of topics inside.

The goalkeeper, who has been terrifically painted by cover artist Louise Cobbold, is the focus of the main interview inside, discussing his second season at the club, training methods and taking inspiration from Carl Ikeme.

Patricio is joined by the likes of Jonny, Maximilian Kilman, Michael Owen and David Kelly by speaking inside the latest programme, which will become available for £3.50 here.

Snippets of the 31-year-old’s interview can be found below, with the full version available in Friday’s programme.

“Last year was my first season here at the club, so everything was different, everything was new. I had always played in Portugal and only last year that changed, so it has been a completely new world, a new home, a new club, new people to handle with.

“There have been a lot of changes and obviously the language is one of them, as well. This season I feel I am more at ease with everything because obviously it is a new year, and whatever situation I am facing in a game, it might have been one that I have already dealt with.

“The way I perceive games is obviously very different and this season I am doing better. I also want to do more to grow as a player and I want to learn to speak more English. I am happy with the way I speak English right now, but I wouldn’t say it is enough for an interview, for example. However, I still feel more at home this year, without a doubt.”
