Visitor information for Rod Stewart concert

Rod Stewart takes to the stage at Molineux in a little over two weeks and excitement is building in Wolverhampton.

Here is a guide for any visitors heading to Molineux on Saturday 8th June for the latest stop on Rod’s biggest ever UK tour.

KEY TIMES

General admission gates open at 5pm. Entertainment is expected to begin at 7pm and should finish no later than 11pm. Please note timings are subject to change.

TRAVEL AND PARKING

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, Molineux Stadium, Waterloo Road, Wolverhampton, WV1 4QR.

Please be aware that Waterloo Road will be closed from 3.30pm, Sir Jack Hayward Way will close at 4pm and Whitmore Hill at 4.30pm. The roads will reopen following the concert, once safe to do so.

There will be a drop off/pick up point available on the Asda car park.

TRAVELLING TO MOLINEUX STADIUM

BY CAR

Exit M6 at junction 12. At the island take the third exit onto A5 for Wolverhampton. At the next island turn left onto A449. After six miles the A449 passes under the M54. Carry straight on and at the sixth island (Five Ways) take the third exit onto Waterloo Road. Molineux is one mile straight on.

BY ROAD FROM THE SOUTH WEST

Exit M5 at junction 2. Follow the signs for Wolverhampton on the A4123 for eight miles to the Ring Road. Turn left on Ring Road, following signs for Molineux. Take the second exit at next two islands, pass Banks’s Brewery and swimming baths on left and then turn left at next set of traffic lights. Molineux is 500 yards on the right.

BY ROAD FROM THE SOUTH EAST

Exit M6 at junction 10. Take A454 via Willenhall to Wolverhampton Ring Road. At 1st Ring Road island, take the fourth exit (A449 to Stafford). Straight on at next two sets of traffic lights. Filter right at third set of lights into Waterloo Road. Molineux is 500 yards on right.

PARKING

PARK AND RIDE

Due to the limited parking access around the stadium, there will be a park and ride service available from Wolverhampton Racecourse.

BY TAXI

Wednesfield Radio Cars. Call: 01902 305333. The family-run business offer private hire taxis, executive travel, airport travel, multi-seat people carriers and courier services. All drivers are CRB checked by Wolverhampton City Council and are fully insured and licensed to conform with all local authority directives.

BY BUS

Wolverhampton Bus Station is located in the city centre next to the train station. There is also a bus stop right outside Molineux and the National Express West Midlands service numbers 3, 4 and 5 stop here.

BY TRAIN

Wolverhampton Train Station is the nearest train station.

SECURITY

BAG POLICY

Please try to bring a bag no larger than an A4 piece of paper. All bags are subject to a bag search; so please avoid bringing a bag where you can as this will speed up your entry to the concert.

FOOD AND DRINK

A full range of food and drink concessions are available within the stadium and the fan village. Do not attempt to bring food or drink into the venue, as it will be confiscated. You may bring one sealed bottle of water per person max 500ml. If you have a medical condition such as diabetes, then a doctor’s note will permit diet-specific food and drink only.

RE-ADMITTANCE POLICY

Once you leave the stadium you will not be allowed back in.

VENUE

BOX OFFICE

The box office is located in the north west corner of the stadium between the Stan Cullis and Billy Wright Stands.

There will be will be ticket sales available on the day via the box office.

MEGASTORE

The club megastore will close at 2pm on Saturday.

There will be Rod Stewart merchandise being sold from the Wolves pop up shops which are situated by the subway and at the top of the Billy Wright ramp.

FAN VILLAGE

Customers with tickets on the pitch or in the Stan Cullis Stand will be able to access the fan village which opens at 5pm. The fan village will have food and drink concessions. Please note that all persons attending the event will be searched on entry. For any news updates please CLICK HERE.

DO

  • Do make sure you’ve planned your journey or have arranged accommodation.
  • Do allow plenty of time for your journey.
  • Do try and be at the venue when doors open at 5pm.
  • Do keep your personal belongings and tickets safe at all times.
  • Do bring some sensible clothing and sun protection.
  • Do use the official vendors for merchandising only.
  • Do follow instruction from stewards at all times.

  • Don’t bring any food or drink into the stadium as it will be confiscated.
  • Don’t bring umbrellas as they will be confiscated.
  • Don’t bring professional audio or visual recording equipment.
  • Don’t bring flags or banners they restrict views and will be confiscated.
  • Don’t smoke inside the stadium.
