Kicking off with the first of four auctions across the 2018/19 season, stunning signed originals featuring the likes of Nuno Espírito Santo, Conor Coady and Pep Guardiola are up for grabs in an auction that runs between Thursday 18th October and Sunday 28th October at 9pm.
Each of the paintings have featured on the front cover of Wolves’ new-look matchday programme this season, garnering praise for Louise’s work throughout the footballing community and on social media.
Each painting comes mounted, framed and signed by both Louise and the featured sports star, and offers a unique opportunity to win a valuable piece of original sporting memorabilia whilst raising funds for Cure Leukaemia, Good Shepherd Ministry Wolverhampton, Race Against Blood Cancer and YMCA Black Country.
“When Wolves approached my husband Chris and I with the idea to partner on this project, for us there was not even a decision to make,” Louise told wolves.co.uk.
“Three months in, I genuinely still cannot believe that my watercolour paintings are being used on the covers of a Premier League team’s matchday programme!
“The feedback so far has been very encouraging, not only from our fans who have been incredibly supportive even before this project, but also from away fans who really seem to have warmed to the covers.
“It has been brilliant seeing the reactions to the programmes as a whole with so much positive feedback from those of all ages relating to new initiatives like the sticker albums; I guess it also helps that the team are doing so well on the pitch too.
“I am very grateful to Wolves for this incredible opportunity, to the fans and the media for their support and to the photographers who have been so kind in allowing me to use their amazing images as a platform for my paintings; without them, none of this would be possible.
“Chris and I are so excited by the potential for raising significant funds for some fantastic charities through this project and are now delighted to kick things off with the first of four auctions this season.”
Cure Leukemia CEO James McLaughlin said: “We are delighted that Cure Leukemia is going to be one of the beneficiaries of the online auction.
“We are hugely appreciative to both Louise and Chris Cobbold for their continuing support of Cure Leukemia, and also to Carl and Wolves for selecting us.”
The ten paintings feature the following sports stars:
- Carl Ikeme
- Conor Coady
- Richarlison (Everton)
- Nuno Espírito Santo
- Pep Guardiola (Manchester City)
- Willy Boly
- Ashley Barnes (Burnley)
