Young Wolves End of Season Dinner

Wolves also win Family Excellence Award

Last Wednesday we rolled out the red carpet for our Young Wolves End of Season Dinner.

Hosted in the Hayward Suite at Molineux, the sold-out event saw our junior fans welcome the 2016/17 squad and present them with this season’s awards, voted for by junior season ticket holders and members.

Numbers were drawn out of a hat to see who would sit with each player whilst the awards were presented.

The winners on the night were:

‘Best Twitter’ went to Jordan Graham.

Kortney Hause took away the ‘Best Boots’ prize.

Christian Herc won the ‘Unbelievable Tekkers Challenge’ award after beating Bright Enobokhare.

Finally, it was a hatrick for Helder Costa … ‘Best Celebration’ for his celebration in Wolves FA Cup win over Stoke ‘Best Goal’ for his unbelievable solo finish against Cardiff City at Molineux And undoubtedly the biggest award of the night ‘Young Wolves Player of the Season’.

Once the awards had been done and dusted, the fans got a chance to meet the players and get their autographs.

Finally, once the players had left and the sweet cart had been raided, the raffle began.

Lucky fans who had a winning ticket chose their prizes from a range of money can’t buy items including; Helder Costa’s matchworn signed boots, a shirt signed by the 16/17 squad, Dominic Iorfa’s boots, a signed Danny Batth poster and many more fantastic prizes.

Membership Manager Kerri Davies thoroughly enjoyed the evening and praised the junior Wolves members. Kerri says: “It was great to see all the families enjoying themselves, particularly the juniors who were excited to be up close and personal with the first team squad.

"The event is catered for the juniors and many of them get to present the trophies, whilst the sweet cart proved very popular!

"We would like to thank all our members for their support and this season we reached the highest membership figures since the schemes were launched six years ago.

"That support is very much appreciated, and we look forward to hopefully welcoming everyone back again next season.”

Thanks to all our Young Wolves fans that attended, and your great support this season! See you for 2017/18!

The awards dinner followed the news that Wolves have received the EFL’s Family Excellence Award for the 2016/17 season.

Created in 2007, the Award is celebrating its 10th anniversary this season and recognises the outstanding experience provided by clubs for young fans and families as well as their efforts to enhance the matchday experience.

A record breaking number of 51 clubs from across all three divisions in the EFL have achieved the award for 2017, with a significant increase in the benchmark standard being applied by the judging panel.

Over the past 10 years, more and more young people have made their way through the turnstiles in the EFL, with junior season ticket sales having increased by a staggering 37% since 2007, and 20% of all EFL club match attendees now under the age of 16.

More than ever this year, EFL clubs are providing families with engaging and innovative matchday entertainment, as they continue to find new and unique ways to attract fans and their families to matches.

In achieving the award Wolves have been recognised as offering superb entertainment for families at Molineux throughout the 2016/17 season, engaging with young fans and families through many different initiatives.
