reading, is one of those many teachers who goes above and beyond in her duties.
The long-serving PE Co-ordinator at Perton First School, she also runs the Year 3 and 4 football team on a voluntary basis.
Unfortunately recently she suffered an injury of her own, which meant she couldn’t train the team for a spell, to much annoyance on her part!
She is a Wolves’ Season Ticket holder and so, to try and soften the painful blow, one of her colleagues at the school contacted Wolves Wishes.
Luke Wylde, the assistant headteacher, got in touch.
“Mrs Hopkins is incredibly passionate about our Year 3 and Year 4 football team and gives up a lot of her time to help them become successful footballers,” said Mr Wylde, himself also a Wolves Season Ticket Holder.
“She does an incredible job!
“Sadly she broke her knee towards the end of last year and was unable to train the team – and both she and they were gutted!
“Mrs Hopkins has a very active lifestyle, and being laid up in bed resting wasn’t great for her morale.
“I contacted Wolves Wishes as I think she really deserves it for the hard work and passion she puts into the team and how worried she was about them when she wasn’t able to get to training.”
We waited until Mrs Hopkins was back to fitness and back working with the team, before springing a Wolves Wishes surprise thanks to Nouha Dicko and Bright Enobakhare.
And the visit came just prior to her 60th birthday….....
