Jody Back In The Picture!

Wolves have commissioned former captain and now accomplished artist Jody Craddock to produce the covers for the matchday programmes for the 2017/18 season.

Jody, who spent ten years as a player at Wolves from 2003 to 2013, made 237 of his 581 career appearances whilst at Molineux, including being part of the team which won promotion to – and spent three years in – the Premier League.

This follows the success of last year’s covers designed by Alexander Wells which featured illustrations of a Wolf doing battle with a representative of the opposition.

The new covers from Jody, consisting of cross hatch ink drawings, will be in comic strip style featuring club legends from the past, often with a link to that particular fixture.

“After the success of last year’s covers, we knew we had a very tough act to follow,” said Programme Editor John Hendley.

“But as we all know from Jody’s career as a player, he loves a challenge!

“He has been an accomplished artist for many years, and we have always been keen to try and work with him if we could.

“We first started talking through potential programme covers towards the end of last season, and Jody has come up with the comic strip idea which we haven’t seen done anywhere before and looks really striking.

“A variety of Wolves favourites from across the different eras will be featured, for the most part with some form of connection to the game or the opponents.

“We are thrilled to be working with Jody on the initiative, and hope that fans will enjoy the fruits of all his hard work with some really great programme covers over next season.”

Jody added:  “It gives me great pleasure to be involved in the design of the front covers for this season’s programme.

“I was approached by Wolves to see if it was something I would be interested in doing.

“After a fair bit of thought about how I could produce so many works of art in the timeframe allowed, and being aware of the tough task ahead following the great success of Alexander Wells, I was delighted to take the opportunity of giving something back and once again being a part of Wolves’ history.

“The covers are going to be representatives of a comic book.

“Normal comics are filled with people’s childhood super heroes, and these covers will represent the heroes who have graced the legendary Molineux Stadium and will forever be etched in our memories for all the blood, sweat and tears they have given for the club.

“I am really enjoying producing the artwork and I hope fans will enjoy seeing the results.”
