History to be made

Wolves on 999 to have played league football

Wolves are set to add another chapter to the club’s illustrious history at Rotherham on Saturday – by fielding their 1,000th player for a league game.

If any new face makes his debut at the New York Stadium, it will be the club’s 1,000th player in a league game, all worked out thanks to a collaboration between various club staff and supporters to tot up the figure!

Statistician and lifelong Wolves fan Scott Pritchard has been hard at work crunching the numbers, along with help from Wolves club historian John Hendley, Museum Curator Pat Quirke and local journalist and author David Instone.

So keep an eye out against the Millers on Saturday – for what could be history being made during Walter Zenga’s first game in charge.
