Wolves Wishes: Welcome Back for Alfie

Young Wolves fan returns to Molineux after a broken arm

Young Alfie Rodger has enjoyed his first season as a Wolves’ Season Ticket Holder – well, all apart from missing the Watford game when he broke his arm playing football in the morning.

Dad Alistair takes up the story.

“It is Alfie’s first season as a Season Ticket Holder and he has loved coming to the games,” says Dad Alistair.

“I was out of the country with work for a couple of weeks and then we had two weeks holidays so because of that - and midweek games being too late for him - we hadn't been to a game for about six weeks.

“Anyway, he was incredibly excited about coming to the Watford game but on the morning of the match, whilst playing football in his Wolves kit (not easy as we live in Manchester so you can imagine the grief he gets!), he broke his arm!

“He wasn't that bothered about the three hours in A&E or the cast now on his arm but he was incredibly upset at missing the Wolves game that afternoon and not getting to see another one for a long time.”

Alistair contacted Wolves Wishes to see if there was anything that could be done for Alfie and so, when he returned to Molineux for the game with Ipswich, he was greeted with a surprise array of gifts, including a Wolves scarf and collection of sweets and chocolates.

The little fella was delighted, as Dad explains.

“On the way home and when we got back, all he could talk about was how Wolves had missed him and how they had 'popped up to see him',” he added.

“I think his Mum and school are sick of hearing it now.

“Obviously the gifts helped, the chocolate didn't last long and he wore the scarf all the next day so he really was over the moon about the whole experience.”
