Internationals | Angel called up by Spain under-18s

Dani Angel has been rewarded with a first call-up to the Spain under-18s squad.

The striker has been selected by Paco Gallardo for the international friendly double-header against Switzerland in Madrid next week.

Angel, who signed for Wolves in October last year, has impressed in his first few months at Compton, scoring nine goals in all competitions.

The youngster arrived from Clapton FC in London and within six months, is set for his first experience on the international stage.

Meanwhile, Mateus Mane, signed from Rochdale last month, has recently been away with Portugal under-17s.

The 16-year-old linked up with the club’s under-16s following his move from the non-league side, and received a call-up to the Portugal youth set-up for a round of training fixtures.

Completing the April internationals is Wes Okoduwa who has once again been away with England under-16s, who were competing in the UEFA Development Tournament in Pinatar, Spain.

The defender joined up with the Young Lions following last Thursday’s U17 Premier League Cup final and started the second game against Belgium.
