Fraser Harper felt the team gave their all, despite being beaten by Chelsea in the U17 PL Cup final at Molineux.
The midfielder scored the goal to bring Wolves under-17s level in the tie shortly after the break, before Frankie Runham’s brace secured the silverware for Chelsea. Although it wasn’t to be on the night, Harper has praised the group for their performance and run to get to the final.
On giving their all
“I thought the boys fought hard until the end. We were unlucky to come up short, but it happens. I’m proud of the lads.
“We fought for every ball, tried our best and gave our all. We had chances but we missed and that’s something to practice in training. I thought we gave a lot.”
On the timing of the goals
“When the equaliser went in we were all buzzing and all ready for it. I feel like we got a little bit over-excited playing out from the back and that led to their second goal.
“The third goal comes at the end so they weren’t great for momentum, but it happens.”
On scoring at Molineux
“As a fan of the club it means nothing more to me than to score at Molineux so I’m buzzing.”
On the cup run
“I think we’ve had a great run. We don’t normally get far in stuff like this, but I’m proud of the lads.
“We’ve given everything so it’s back to the drawing board now.”
