Internationals | Academy youngsters called up

Four academy youngsters are on international duty for their countries during the March break.

Fresh from his professional debut in the Emirates FA Cup at Molineux on Saturday, Leon Chiwome has travelled to link up with the England under-18s for their camp in Spain.

The striker is part of a 22-strong squad set to play in the U18 Pinatar Super Cup against Czechia, Germany and the Netherlands.

Elsewhere, Lewys Benjamin and Makenzie Bradbury have received call-ups to the Wales youth ranks.

Goalkeeper Benjamin, who started his first Premier League 2 game for the Old Gold last week, will be in action for Wales under-19s for their international friendly double-header against Belgium.

Taking place at Proximus Basecamp in Tubize, the fixtures will be used to prepare for the UEFA European Under-19 Championship Qualifying Round later this year.

Midfielder Bradbury is again in Craig Knight’s under-17s squad for the UEFA European Under-17 Championship Elite Round.

Wales have been drawn in Group B and will face hosts Romania, Sweden and Bulgaria as they aim to qualify for back-to-back UEFA U17 EURO finals after their maiden appearance in Hungary last summer.

Finally, David Osifo has been included in Austria’s under-16s squad for their friendly double-header with North Macedonia in Oberwart.
