1. What do you remember from the first time you played football?

I can’t remember much because it was so long ago! I used to play football out on the streets from when I was about four years old. I’d be out there, playing with my friends every day after school and during the holidays.

2. Have you always wanted to be a footballer?

Definitely. Always. I would either be watching football or playing it outside with my friends constantly when I was young, so it’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do. I never had another plan to do anything else.

3. How did you feel when you first joined Wolves Academy?

When you’re younger, all you want to do is play football. I grew up playing on pitches in Hordern Road, so to be signed by your local club was exciting. I was really excited, and I just couldn’t wait to get started. I’d never had a feeling like that before, so it was really exciting and I was looking forwards to what was in front of me.

4. What have you learnt most while at Wolves?

I’ve learnt a lot; how to deal with set-backs and I’ve had to develop my game over time as well. When I was younger, it was a bit easier for me, but as you get older, others develop as well, so you have to develop your own game as well to keep at a high level.

5. What has been the highlight of your career so far?

There’s been quite a few. I would say either scoring on my England debut or scoring for the first-team against Peterborough during pre-season a few years ago. They were both great feelings.

6. How would you describe yourself as a player?

I’m motivated, determined, focused, passionate, a good finisher, quick and strong. I’ve been known for running down the line and running down the channels a lot, but over the years I’ve tried to develop my game so I can be better at coming short and linking the play. Now, I’ve got a mix of everything in my game. I’m a good finisher too, so if it’s coming to me, I’m putting it in the net.

7. Whose playing style in the first-team do you try to emulate?

Playing as a nine, I try to emulate Jimenez as much as I can. We’re not exactly the same type of player, but I’ve tried to learn from what he does in terms of linking the play. When it comes to running with the ball in the wider areas, I used to think about Jota.

8. What first-team player do you look up to most?

Jimenez again. He’s one of the best players I’ve ever seen in training. He makes everything look easy and sometimes he would do things that makes me think, ‘I have no idea how you just did that!’ Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to me how he does things, because he’s just that good. He’s unbelievable.

9. Which Wolves player’s career would you like to have?

That would be Moutinho. He’s won trophies and titles everywhere he’s gone, he’s played alongside the best player in the world in Ronaldo, he’s got so much experience and he’s still playing at the highest level. I think he’ll still be playing at the highest level until he retires because he’s still being consistent.

10. What are your hopes for the next 12 months?

My hopes are to be playing first-team football somewhere. I need to get first-team experience, whether that’s here at Wolves or on loan because that’s how my career is going to kick-start. I think your career is more likely to kick-start off a good loan than playing with the under-23s.

11. What’s the one thing you’d like to achieve in your career?

I would like to win trophies and be remembered are the two main things. I’m a football fan and there are players who have played, but I don’t know who they are. I want to be a player who is remembered for what they’ve done by everyone after I’ve finished. I just want to win it all. That’s my ambition. I know it’s unrealistic because not everyone can be Ronaldo or Messi, but it’s good to be ambitious.
