Taylor joins Burton Albion

Wolves Academy graduate Terry Taylor has made the permanent move to League One side Burton Albion for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old spent the last three years of his young career in gold and black, having moved from Aberdeen, coming through the professional phase of the Academy to make his senior debut for the club.

In a breakthrough campaign at Wolves during the 2019/20 season, Taylor was a regular with the under-23s and scored his only league goal in a 2-2 draw with Derby County, while he also helped the development side reach the knockout stages of the EFL Trophy with several eye-catching performances.

But it was with Nuno Espirito Santo’s first-team where the Scottish-born midfielder, who now represents Wales at under-21 level and has trained with Ryan Giggs’ senior side, was to earn his stripes as a professional.

Having had a taste of first-team football as part of the Wolves side which lifted the Premier League Asia Trophy in Shanghai during the summer of 2019, where Taylor was a second-half replacement for Ruben Neves in the semi-final and Joao Moutinho in the final, he once again came off the bench to make his competitive debut, as Wolves took on West Midlands rivals Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

Since then, Taylor has spent the first half of the current season developing in the EFL with a loan spell at Grimsby Town, where he made 13 appearances in League Two in the centre of the Mariners’ midfield, preparing him for the next phase of his career with the Brewers.

Everyone at Wolves would like to thank Terry for all his efforts at the club and wish him the very best for the future.
