Wolves renew partnership with GIS

Wolves have renewed their partnership with Global Image Sports which will see the club’s Academy coaches and staff continue to work with partner clubs across North America.

Wolves and GIS, a sports management company which provides opportunities and experiences via the formation of strategic partnerships in the sports industry, have worked together for the last eight years and have now agreed terms on a new two-year contract.

In 2019, Wolves worked with ten partner clubs through GIS, with Academy coaches and staff helping to develop young players as well as spread the club’s ‘Wolves Way’ values to clubs across North America, with all ten partner clubs being invited to a National Camp event in Georgia, which takes place every July.

Joe Hunt, international projects manager at Wolves, was delighted to extend the contract with GIS. He said: “The club has a long history of working with GIS on projects in North America. Our new contract gives us the chance to continue the work with our current partner clubs in the USA and Canada but then open the doors to new clubs who want to be part of the Wolves family.

“We are fortunate to have a very open and progressive Academy, who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise with partner clubs. It’s not just the coaching team who will offer support and guidance, other departments within the Academy like recruitment, analysis and sports science will be involved.

“The Academy have a strong ethos which we’d want our partner clubs to be a part of, but also the Wolves Way – how we play the game right through the age groups. The philosophy within the academy is always evolving and it’s a very exciting time to be part of the wolfpack.”

Reis Williams, GIS vice president, added: “We are really excited to renew our partnership with Wolverhampton Wanderers to bring new and exciting opportunities and services to our partner clubs, players, and families.

“Over the past eight years we have worked with Wolves in the US, Canada, Mexico and Australia to develop the Wolves brand, and provide unique experiences to players and coaches. With the clubs return to the Premier League, and current form, we believe we can increase our reach and services to even more players and fanbases internationally.

“Wolves have always supported us with first class Academy coaching staff which is really what sets the club apart and provides a tremendous amount of value.”
