Wolves under-18s came away from Manchester United’s Carrington training complex with a point on Saturday following a 1-1 draw in their latest U18 Premier League North fixture.
After signing his new deal with the Academy, Luke Cundle put Wolves ahead in the 26th minute when he got on the end of a Jed Abbey ball and diverted his effort beyond United keeper Ondrej Mastny.
With captain Christian Marques returning to the defence after a few weeks away with Switzerland’s under-17s, it was an improved defensive performance from Steve Davis’ side on recent weeks, but the hosts’ pressure told just after the break when Charlie McCann netted from the spot to bring United level.
Wolves, who were under the cosh for much of the contest, facing 15 shots from the home side, while making just four of their own, settled for a point which left them in fourth place in the table.
COMING UP
The under-18s, who don’t face a home tie until December, are back on the road as they travel to Derby County for a 11am kick-off on Saturday 9th November.
