Ahead of the clash with Manchester United on Saturday, academy winger Ryan Giles says that the Wolves Under 18 squad are feeling confident, and believes his side is just as good as their opposition.
“It’s a big game and we’re looking forward to it, said Giles, “The lads are buzzing, we’re ready to go into this one and not hold back.
“We showed them a bit too much respect earlier in the season, but we’re 100% as good as them really, we’ve just got to have that mentality that we’re good players and we’re at Wolves for a reason.
The Under 18 side lost to Stoke last weekend, but the 17-year-old winger believes that once they stop conceding early on, they will go back to winning ways.
“Last week against Stoke, the first 15 minutes cost us again.
“We dominated for 75 minutes after that, we had a lot of chances and we were unlucky not to put one away, but that happens in football.
Darren Ryan’s side haven’t won since September, but Giles says that the squad aren’t panicking and are still confident going into Saturday’s game.
“We just need to get out of this habit of conceding early.
“If we can get out of that habit, we always get into the game really well and we always dominate teams, we’re ready for this one.”
Wolves Under 18’s take on Manchester United Under 18’s at 11.30am at Compton Park on Saturday 2nd December.
