Following on from his sides victory, Dan McNamara has expressed how proud he is of his team and has set his sights on silverware.
Wolves Women ran out 3-1 winners in the FA Women’s National League against Stoke City on Sunday afternoon.
Despite Evie Priestley giving the Potters the advantage, Georgia Marshall’s strike and a brace from Charlotte Greengrass guided the Old Gold to victory.
On the performance
“Before the game we spoke about what Stoke would bring, it’s on a difficult surface, it’s a difficult pitch.
“I don’t think we started the game brightly at all, we allowed Stoke to get on top of us which is what they like to do.
“They probably deserved to go ahead, the goal was coming so we altered things a little bit tactically and I thought we got a grip of the game 25 minutes onwards.
“This group don’t die, they never have, we’ve taken a massive step forward in taking this league title to the final day of the season.”
On Racheal Quigley’s impact
“I thought Quigs was excellent, she’s trained fantastically well this week and she was outstanding.
“It wasn’t just me that noticed it, some of the players did too so she probably felt hard done by with not getting a start.
“Her mom and dad were here before they go back to Australia and she’s done them proud.”
On the Birmingham Challenge Cup Final against Rugby next
“I just said to the girls now you’ve got three cup finals potentially and to take Burnley, who have spent thousands, to the final day in this league is unbelievable.
“I’d love them to secure promotion this year because they deserve it with how good they’ve been this year.
“We know Rugby will want to get us back after what happened last Thursday.
“It’s a chance to win silverware which is exciting, but we’ve really got to focus on that Halifax game - it’s an exciting end, but we’ve got to make sure everybody’s ready."
