Just five weeks after Wolves took Black Country bragging rights on Derby Day in the league, the Old Gold meet West Bromwich Albion once again – this time in cup action – in their first home game of 2026.
After the disappointment of two postponements to kick-off 2026, Wolves finally got their year underway with an 8-0 win over over Birmingham City PGA last weekend to progress to the semi-finals of the Birmingham FA Challenge Cup. Attentions now turn to renewing Black Country rivalries, with the winner of the FA WNL Cup tie facing a home semi-final against Swindon Town or AFC Bournemouth on Sunday 1st February.
The Baggies have also played just once since our meeting in December - winning 1-0 against Leafield Athletic on Wednesday night - and will be looking to avenge the three goals scored by Anna Morphet, Amber Hughes and Amy Sims at the Alexander Stadium.

How We Got Here
It has been a flawless FA WNL Cup campaign for Wolves so far having won every game in the competition so far. Group stage wins over Stoke City (2-1), Manchester United PGA (3-1) and Wythenshawe (7-1) were followed by comfortable victories at Sporting Khalsa (5-0) and AFC Sudbury (3-0).
West Brom also won all three group matches: Stourbridge (4-0), Leicester City PGA (2-0) and Leafield Athletic (2-0). Knockout wins over Stoke City (2-0) and Leeds United on penalties after a 1-1 draw then followed to set up a second Black Country Derby of the season.
The winners of this tie will face a home game against Swindon Town or AFC Bournemouth on Sunday, 1st February.
