Chloe Williams was ‘buzzing’ to have contributed to Wolves Women’s dominant 5-0 win against Sporting Khalsa in the FAWNL Cup which has secured their spot in the last 16 of the competition.
The midfielder, who came through the youth set-up at Wolves before enjoying spells in the WSL with Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers, netted her second goal since returning to her childhood club in the summer to put the Old Gold three ahead in Willenhall.
And by helping to continue the team’s unbeaten start to the season, Williams feels there is nothing which can stop the side from taking their positive form and momentum into this weekend’s Birmingham Challenge Cup clash away at Hednesford Town.
On victory in the FAWNL Cup
“I thought it was really a good performance. We knew before the game what we needed to do, and I think we came out and did that.
“Overall, it was a really good performance.”
On firing her second goal of the season
“I’m really buzzing with the win, obviously it’s my second goal now [since her return to the club in the summer] and I’m hoping to build on that and get as many goals as I can.
“But for me, I’m really happy for that and hopefully I can take that into the games coming ahead.”
On how they’ve kept the unbeaten run going
“I think just being consistent as a team, coming into training every week and getting the work done.
“We all know exactly what we need to do on the weekend, and get it done.”
"We came out and did what we needed to do today."

On another clean sheet
“We’re going into training knowing that we need to be consistent. We know we need to get points and we’re not looking to drop any points.
“Hopefully we can take that into the weeks ahead and keep building on that.
On taking momentum into the Challenge Cup
“We’ll get into training on Tuesday, we’ll watch this game back and we’ll build on what we could do better.
“Today we wanted to get more goals than we did, so hopefully we can take that into next weekend.
