Amy Sims has become Wolves Womenās first new addition of the summer with the midfielder adding goal scoring quality to Dan McNamaraās side.
The 26-year-old, who captained childhood club Derby County before moving to Nottingham Forest last year, brings versatility and a wealth of experience in the Womenās National League to Wolves.
Having come through the Ramsā womenās academy, Sims played in various positions across the pitch before making the move from right back to attacking midfield during the 2022/23 season.
Over the next two campaigns, she would go on to score 40 goals, while also claiming the Northern Premier Divisionās Golden Boot award in 2023 and netting the winner in Derbyās FAWNL Plate final triumph the following year.
Manager Dan McNamara believes bringing a player of Simsā quality and experience to Wolves will prove to be a āstatement signingā for the womenās first-team.

āIām delighted to have been able to bring Amy to Wolves,ā McNamara said. āIāve known her for a few years, and she used to cause us all kinds of problems. Sheās an excellent, all-rounded player, and sheās got so much ability, energy, aggression and sheās technically really clean, so Iām delighted.
āI think this a bit of a statement from the football club that we went out and did some business early and got someone of her calibre over the line because sheās tried and tested in tier three, and Iām really looking forward to seeing what she can bring.
āSheās so versatile and she can do a lot, but you also know what youāre going to get from Amy as sheāll do whatever she needs to for the team ā sheās a real team player with a great attitude and has an ambition to play higher in the football pyramid, so Iām delighted to get it done and hopefully we can go on a good journey together over next few years.ā
Sims has been part of several opposition teams to have gone up against Wolves in recent years, including featuring in Forestās crucial victory over the Old Gold at Telfordās SEAH Stadium last season which proved to be the difference between the title-chasing sides.

Now she will cross the divide and pull on the gold and black shirt this season and McNamara is looking forward to finally being on the same side as his latest signing.
āYou often highlight the best players within the opposition when you go through your analysis and I said to Amy when she first came in that finally we can start working together, rather than against each other, because Iām sick of the effort of planning to try to stop her.
āIām really looking forward to what sheās going to bring because sheās a great character and will add to the dressing room as well as to the football pitch.
āI know what Amy is capable of and I hope she hits the ground running because ā ability-wise ā sheās top drawer. She knows this league inside out so hopefully we can really push on to where we both want to be working.ā
