Wolves Women will make history on Friday night when they walk out at the SEAH Stadium in front of a live television audience for their Adobe Women’s FA Cup second round tie with Stoke City.
A place in the third round against a potential WSL 2 side awaits for the winner with the two sides meeting for the third time already this season.
Setting the Scene
There was late drama at Telford on Sunday as Wolves came from behind to score a dramatic stoppage time winner in a 3-2 win against Loughborough, thanks to Amber Hughes. Wolves have now won 13 games in a row in all competitions and are in the second round after a win over Rugby Borough in round one.
It was another stoppage time goal on Sunday that succumbed Stoke to a 1-0 defeat to Rugby, as Borough struck the only goal of the game in 96th minute. They made it into the second round with a 7-0 win over Sutton Coldfield Town.
We’ve Met Before
Both meetings with Stoke this season – and both at Telford – have ended in a 2-1 Wolves win. Amber Hughes struck late in an FA WNL Cup fixture in August, while early October saw Wolves storm into a 2-0 lead before being given a scare the ten – and then nine – player Potters in the closing moments.
Tickets
We are expecting a healthy crowd at the SEAH Stadium for this match, but you can still be a part of our historic night by grabbing your tickets in advance. Tickets are on sale at the advance price right up until kick-off, so avoid the queues at the turnstiles and buy online.
Tickets are just £5 for adults and £3 for concessions and kids if bought in advance.
