Wolves Women return to the SEAH Stadium on Sunday afternoon for the first of two huge games as they welcome Loughborough Lightning in the FA Women’s National League.
After two away games, it will hopefully be home comforts for Dan McNamara’s side in front of what we hope will be a swelled crowd in Telford.
With the match taking place during the men’s international break, we’re asking Wolves fans to continue to Back the Pack by getting behind the women’s team this weekend with our Prem On Hold, Paint The SEAH Old Gold campaign.
Setting the Scene
Wolves come into the game unbeaten in all competitions this season and progressed through to the quarter-final of the FA WNL with a 3-0 win at AFC Sudbury last weekend thanks to goals from Racheal Quigley, Beth Merrick and Charlotte Greengrass.
Their last run out on home turf was a 4-1 win over Sporting Khalsa at the end of October which will be remembered for Abbi Jenner’s stunning 40-yard strike.
Loughborough Lightning gained promotion last season with an unbeaten season and although they have struggled to find form in a new division, they have picked up notable results winning away at Derby County and drawing at Stoke City last weekend.
We’ve Met Before
Wolves and Loughborough have met four times since 2022, with Wolves winning all four matches without conceding a goal by an aggregate score of 17-0. Check out the highlights below of Wolves’ 3-0 win at the University Stadium back in March 2022, when Anna Morphet, Amber Hughes and Tammi George all found the back of the net.
